Brazilian Zouk with Deblin & Adayl
Brazilian Zouk is a contagious, elegant and sexy dance that expresses joy, freedom and harmony, examples of Brazilian cultural expression. The class is geared toward students with little or no Zouk training and will introduce its traditional and contemporary styles and roots. The goal is to create a welcoming and fun environment where students of all abilities and experience can enjoy Zouk in its various forms, and develop their skills while having fun and a great time dancing. ZOUK PROGRAM AT VMAC

ZOUK 1 BEGINNERS
Consists of 3 one-month series: 1 Teal, 1 Orange, and 1 Navy. They don't need to be taken in alphabetical order, but all 3 need to be completed to be fully prepared for Level 2. They're all good for beginners! The class is geared toward students with little or no Zouk training and will introduce its traditional and contemporary styles and roots. The goal is to create a welcoming and fun environment where students of all abilities and experience can enjoy Zouk in its various forms, and develop their skills while having fun and a great time dancing. We highly encourage all students new to VMAC to take these classes from level 1 Beginners, even if they have been social dancing before or taken classes at other studios, to get familiar with our studios, teaching style, vocabulary, our VMAC culture and community.

ZOUK 2 BEYOND BEGINNERS
Consists of 6 one-month series: 2a-2f. Can be taken in any order but all 6 need to be completed to be fully prepared for Level 3. The class will teach students fundamental movements utilized in Brazilian Zouk. These movements are the most common movements found in Zouk with a emphasis on connection, frame and timing. ZOUK 3 INTERMEDIATE
Intensive 3-month Program
by Audition / Invite Only
The intensive is a 3-month commitment that includes level 2 and the 8:30PM intensive class. There are 2 units (3a and 3b), 3 months each. Both units must be completed to be fully prepared for Intro to Head Motion.
Closed to the public - must be approved before taking this intensive. Students will typically repeat 3A & 3B twice.
Requirements:
All 6 units of level 2 (2a-2f) must be finished. Assessments held at the end of the month.

INTRO TO HEAD MOTION PROGRAM
✨ Head Motion 101: Foundations – Brazilian Zouk ✨ 🌸JANUARY - MARCH, 2026 🌸 🗓 Mondays | 6:30PM–7:30PM 📍VMAC | 2648 E Burnside St 📅 3-Month Commitment | 💲$85 per month, paid in monthly increments, or included in the Unlimited Bachata/Zouk Pass This is an INTERMEDIATE-LEVEL class and is not beginner friendly. While this series is open to dancers who have completed Level 1, we HIGHLY recommend that students have taken at least six months of consistent Zouk Level 2 before enrolling. If we feel like you do not have the appropriate level of experience to take this class we may require you to un-enroll for the safety of the class. Head motion is one of the most intricate and technical aspects of Brazilian Zouk. This series moves at a fast pace and requires a strong foundation in connection, timing, and body awareness. Students should already be comfortable with the fundamentals of Zouk, including traveling turns / compass turns, all the fundamental basics, dance on time, etc. 💡 Important Note: The Intro to Head Motion series is a 3-month curriculum commitment, and our expectation is that students take the cycle at least TWICE before considering advancing. Repetition is essential to safely and effectively develop the body control and technique necessary for head motion work.
