Class Description: Lindy Hop
Lindy Hop 1:
1 (Teal) | 6-count Fundamentals and Shapes: Step into the joyful world of swing dancing! This beginner-friendly class introduces you to Lindy Hop, the vibrant jazz dance born in the Black communities of Harlem during the 1920s and ’30s. You'll learn essential 6-count footwork, how to connect with both the music and your partner, and the foundations of closed and open position dancing. We'll also cover basic turns to get you moving confidently on the social dance floor. No experience or partner necessary - partner rotation required.
1 (Orange) | 8-count (Part 1) Fundamentals and Shapes: Build on the basics and take the next step in your Lindy Hop journey. In this segment of our beginner series, we’ll introduce 8-count footwork—an essential piece of Lindy Hop vocabulary. You’ll expand your movement repertoire and deepen your connection to the rhythm, your partner, and the music. No experience or partner necessary - partner rotation required.
1 (Navy) | Beginner Charleston: Jump into the dance that helped spark the creation of Lindy Hop! In this high-energy class, we’ll explore the classic kicks, shapes, and stylings of 1920s and ’30s-era Charleston. From solo flair to partnered variations, you’ll build rhythm, coordination, and confidence—all while connecting to the rich history and joyful spirit of early jazz dance. No prior experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to move! (While not required, recommended to have taken Lindy Hop 1 Teal or 1 Orange). No partner necessary - partner rotation required.

Pass depends on the month...
- Some months have 4 Thursdays and others 5 Thursdays. $75 for months with 4 calendar weeks. $93 for months with 5 calendar weeks.
- NO DROP IN PASSES! Each student must pay for entire month-long series.
- All sales final, no refunds. No extensions.
Requirements:
- No prerequisites. Beginners level.
- Bring comfortable clothes and a smile!
- No partner needed. All students rotate around.
Lindy Hop 2:
2 (Navy) | 8-count (Part 2) - Swingout Essentials : Now that you’ve got the basics down, it’s time to level up! In this class, we’ll introduce the defining move of Lindy Hop: The Swingout. This iconic 8-count pattern is at the heart of the dance and opens the door to countless variations and creative expression. You’ll build on your existing skills, refine your connection, and gain the confidence to bring more energy and style to the social dance floor. No partner necessary - partner rotation required. (Prerequisite: All three colors of Lindy Hop 1)
2 (Teal) | Mixing 6 & 8 : Ready to smooth out your transitions and dance with more freedom? This class focuses on blending 6- and 8-count patterns seamlessly—an essential skill for confident social dancing. You’ll learn how to flow between common moves like tuck turns, passes, and swingouts without missing a beat. We'll explore rhythm, connection, and technique to help you build versatility and expand your movement vocabulary on the dance floor. No partner necessary - partner rotation required. (Prerequisite: All three colors of Lindy Hop 1)
2 (Orange) | Tandem : Take your partnered Charleston to the next level with two classic, high-energy variations: Tandem and Airplane Charleston. In this class, you’ll learn how to move in sync with your partner in Tandem position, mastering smooth entries, exits, and rhythmic kicks. Then, we’ll add flair and dynamic movement with Airplane Charleston, where both dancers open up into a visually striking side-by-side shape. Perfect for dancers comfortable with basic Charleston looking to expand their vocabulary and musical expression. No partner necessary - partner rotation required. (Prerequisite: All three colors of Lindy Hop 1)
