Shakti flow yoga opens up channels of pure energy that are linked to the breath and movement. In life and work we are subject to tension and stress and our bodies sometimes feel stuck, channels sometimes even frozen within the body. We feel unfocused and agitated, even to the point of not feeling well. In Shakti flow yoga the flowing movement of the postures awakens the energy. The breath moves and illuminates places within us that have been shrouded in darkness. The flow has integrity and wisdom and the body feels awakened and thankful for the newfound awareness of the mind and body. Along with this new awareness there is a creative release and the profound feeling of openness and peace. You leave class with the vibrant flow of clean thought and a body that is so thankful for the care that you bestowed upon it.
After a career as a professional ballerina, and a teacher of classical ballet, Satya balances movement with the serenity of stillness. Satya studied many forms of yoga; hot power yoga which she taught in Oxford, England and she also has certification in Kripala Yoga. It was when she moved to NH and walked into a yoga class that was shakti flow that she felt complete "I felt that I was home, my body and soul were in awe and I felt so in love”. satya studied the 500-hour shakti flow yoga certification program under the devoted guidance of Asa Dustin, At Om Yoga Studio in Concord, NH. Satya spent three transformative years under Asa’s guidance, practicing the philosophy of this ancient lineage which are similar to Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism.
The flow is primarily a marriage of the trinity of shiva Rea, Parvathi Nanda Nath and Jivamukti yoga. “I found pure openings when I began to study shakti flow. Sometimes I was brought to tears at the love and pain that I triggered deep within. I found that it was okay to feel the hurt of past experiences , and I came to know that I didn’t need someone else to tell me that I was worthy to love, it was right there inside of me. Shakti flow awakened the true me. I now have inner strength and love for my own being. When I practice yoga I am in a place of peace and love. When I leave the comfort of the studio after practising yoga, I take with me this feeling of love and forgiveness and it brings me great joy to share this beautifully practice with others.
